Holly studied at The University of Nottingham where she gained a BA Joint Hons in German & Portuguese. Her desire to explore for foreign lands and new cultures led her to spend the year travelling the world in 2007, visiting places such Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and America before settling in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In 2010, Holly decided upon a career change and completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education at the University of Leeds, specialising in German, French and Spanish. She is now a secondary school modern foreign languages teacher in the Leeds area.
Alongside her love of languages, Holly’s other passion is music. She plays several instruments and has starred in a variety of amateur musical theatre productions. She is an accomplished solo performer singing at an array of functions and has sung lead vocals in a covers band. She is thrilled to now be part of the fabulous trio The Hummingbirds and is looking forward to seeing this new group flourish.
Kim specialised in Musical Theatre and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. This provided Kim with opportunities to perform in venues such as, The West Yorkshire Playhouse, Hull Truck Theatre and the Leeds Grand. Kim continued her studies at Rose Bruford in London working with various artistic companies performing roles in musicals such as ‘Witches of Eastwick’, ‘Hair’ and ‘Hello, Dolly!’, as well as Pantomime roles to name a few. Kim teaches Performing Arts and has a wealth of experience with Trinity College and Royal College of Music in a vocal technique known as ‘Estill’.
Kim has sung with the Opera North Choir, performing at Leeds Town Hall for the Benjamin Britten Anniversary Concert. Through travelling around various parts of the world for a year, Kim has been inspired by different cultures, which influences her unique style and craft. Kim continues to perform solo artist work at various private functions and wedding receptions with experienced musicians, but she is so delighted to now be a part of ‘The Hummingbirds’ close vocal harmony trio and is looking forward to the birds flying high.
